Hello there....
....my name is John Leighton, and I thought I would tell you a little about my wife Cathy and myself. We live in the Parkland of Central Alberta, Canada on a acreage 7 miles from a town called Delburne. I grew up in Delburne and Cathy grew up 1 mile south of where we live today. We have two daughters that are happily married and seven grandaughters (yahoo).

As a young person I always had a liking for leather and most leather must be sewn and so I started sewing at the age of 14 . The big problem....I needed a machine, bigger than moms household machine and started to look for an Industrial Sewing Machine.

At age 17 I got my first big machine and so the interest started. In 1983 Cathy and I started Leighton's Industrial Sewing Machines and away we went . My main interest is leather machines and of course a lot of these machines are old and need to be rebuilt so I had to learn to be a machinist.

My greatest love after God and my family is to rebuild a #6 Pearson Harness Stitcher. When rebuilt properly, a #6 Pearson Harness Stitcher runs like a Swiss Watch!

My Dad always told me, "Remember when you make a deal with a man you might want to deal with him again".
